Please introduce yourself and your background
- Fantastec SWAP has been crafting NFTs since Q1 2018 mainly for leading European football teams.
- We are based in London, England and have a unique blend of engineers, data analysts, designers, scientists, researchers, sports marketing professionals, creatives, and communication personnel.
What is Fantastec SWAP? What is your longer-term vision for the project?
- Fantastec launched our SWAP NFTs in 2018 with three of Europe’s biggest football clubs, Arsenal, Borussia Dortmund and Real Madrid.
- We were therefore the first to deliver a number of NFTs firsts including the first-ever women’s sports team NFT collection - capturing in-game video moments and crafting them into highly valued NFTs.
- Our long-term vision is to continue to be at the forefront in the NFT sector delivering what fans’ want.
What makes your platform unique compared to other NFT marketplaces?
- We have the best NFTs in sports, with a number of unique features like digital and authentic autographs.
- These have been crafted by an extremely diverse and talented team of designers and animators who produce beautiful NFTs like no other in the industry.
- Because we originally designed for the mobile-first generation we have the best primary market in NFTs where sports fans are one-click away from having SWAP NFTs in their collection.
Why did you build/transition to Flow rather than ETH, BSC etc?
- In our discussions with Roham and Mik at Dapper Labs, it was obvious they not only shared a fan first vision that we have at Fantastec but they were implementing it into future actions on Flow.
- So, adding Flow’s secondary market to our industry leading primary market made sense to us and our fans spread across 220 countries and territories.
How do you intend to promote/help the creators of those in your marketplace and gallery?
- This will be something you will see in future SWAP collections as we engage with more sports fans and teams via Flow.
How do you see the NFT market shaping up in the coming years, and where do you see Flow and Fantastec SWAP positioning in this?
- We are so early in the NFT sector it is impossible to fully predict everything that is coming in the future years.
- But it is truly exciting to be at the forefront and to test and implement new features for sports fans globally.
- We’ve had added a new fan feature every month since January and I am sure that torrid development pace will continue.
What are some of the major milestones you have hit so far and why are they important?
- We aren’t as focused on milestones as much as we are on the next feature our fans tell us they want.
- So yes, we were thrilled to be the first NFTs with European football teams and we were extremely proud to launch the first ever women’s NFT collections.
- Being the #1 downloaded freemium APP in the UK and a few other countries brought us momentary satisfaction but we are constantly looking forward not back.
How has your community grown since you first launched?
- We’re a community driven platform, we listen and learn from all of our users, and we always welcome feedback from our social channels and Discord.
- We have continually placed our users at the forefront of our platform, and everything we do is “For The Fans.”
- Our growth has been with a variety of constituents from those that like our Spanish language version, to those that like our women’s football collections to those that like our super premium crafted 1 of 1’s we recently launched.
- We have multiple communities and continually look to satisfy their unique needs.
Any exciting news you’d like to announce here today?
- It’s exciting enough to be adding the Flow secondary market to our primary market.
- Our fans that had an emotionally strong connection via our NFTs with their clubs can now have a financial connection as well.
- So, for the first time ever, sports fans can earn money from their fandom by selling duplicates or unwanted parts of their curated collections. It’s a major change in the world for true sports fans.
