Please introduce yourself and your background
- Hello! I'm Yonder and I build Flowscan. Currently I'm also a community manager on Flow.
What is Flowscan? What is your overall mission for the project?
- It's a block explorer for Flow.
- My vision is to have Flowscan as the standard / default block explorer for Flow like how Etherscan is for Ethereum today.
- I hope to achieve that by building user-friendly interface and having features that most users would use.
Why did you decide to build on Flow? Do you intend to build just for Flow or expand to other chains?
- Initially I made it as a personal tool to track my FLOW token transfers from the community sale since at the time there's no obvious way to do it.
- Then I decided to continue building it as a full block explorer because I believe that some day Flow will be one of the top blockchains in the world and I see this as an opportunity.
- For now, I intend to build only for Flow because there's too much competition already on other chains.
How do you see the NFT market shaping up in the coming years, and where do you see Flow and Flowscan’s position in this?
- I think there will be a new generation of mainstream non-blockchain games to be enriched with NFTs as tradeable game items or collectibles in the future.
- We can see the success of trade-able game items (even for non-NFT items) like for example in CS:GO with its thriving skins market.
- I think if there's an easy way and financially sustainable way to turn game items into trade-able assets more game developers would do it.
- Supporting the mainstream audience would require a blockchain with great user experience and affordable transaction fees which is why I think Flow could secure a big portion of this market.
- If Flowscan can stay as the most used block explorer for it, Flow success will be our success too.
Any exciting news you’d like to announce here today, or upcoming features we should be on the lookout for?
- In the next month or two, people would be able to see all of the tokens and NFTs owned by an account in Flowscan.
